As it stands, I would caution great care in purchasing one for sport, and would definitely recommend against them for defensive use, based on my own personal experience with the product. I think the BD has potential and if Charter would stand behind them in the way that Ruger stands behind their products, I could see myself endorsing them. I had purchased the gun new from Charter but when I called them the company wanted nothing to do with it repair-wise. I had asked around and found that due to the way these are made, it is just not cost-effective to try to repair them. After betraying my trust in such a spectacular and publicly embarassing manner, I sold it off as a "gunsmith special". And the speed loader that I had purchased for it would not fit due to the placement of the cylinder release. Unfortunately it shat the bed on me entirely during my CCW requal. This gun was so ergonomically perfect for me and had such a great compact format that I added it to my CCW permit. ![]()
